No Vacation
In early 2015, San Francisco indie-pop band No Vacation quickly received attention for the nostalgic bedroom-pop sounds off of their debut mixtape, Amo XO and their surf-rock single, “Dræm Girl”. They followed that up with 2017’s similarly hazy EP Intermission.
After a live release and a year-long hiatus later, No Vacation re-emerged from their hibernation by releasing a single and music video for “Yam Yam,” their wildly successful single from “Intermission”.
In 2019, the band released the “Phasing” EP. The Fader said “it was easily their best yet, eschewing the promising but semi-ironic beach-punk of their early days in favor of smart, beguiling dream pop.”
No Vacation has maintained its core lineup, keeping intact the quintessence of their sound—a calm, warm exuberance draped with Sab Mai’s signature subdued vocal style mixed with Nat Lee’s classical string and piano background and Harrison Spencer’s distinct shoe gaze guitars.
Wallice
Wallice is an indie pop wunderkind who has swiftly become one of Gen Z’s most exciting new voices, known for her tongue-in-cheek, self-effacing anthems. After picking up her first instrument at age 6, Wallice started writing songs in middle school and later played in her high school band, inspired by the lyricism of Thom Yorke, Lana Del Rey and the punky irreverence of Weezer and No Doubt. She also modelled and acted (once appearing in an episode of Frasier) throughout adolescence, with her former actress mother supporting all creative pursuits. A proud college dropout, she attended the New School in New York City for Jazz Vocal performance for a year before moving back to California and connecting with childhood friend marinelli, who helped her hone the wistful indie pop style that led to her rise.
Black Polish
Jayden Nicole Binnix, professionally known as Black Polish, is an accomplished musician who embarked on their musical journey at a young age. With a passion for writing and producing music, Jayden began honing their skills at the age of 13. Influenced by a diverse range of artists including Twenty One Pilots, Fleetwood Mac, Nicki Minaj, Melanie Martinez, and Mitski, Jayden’s musical style encompasses a rich blend of genres and inspirations.
Black Polish’s music has resonated with audiences worldwide, as evidenced by their inclusion on more than 25 Spotify playlists, ranging from New Music Friday to All New Indie, Feel-Good Indie Rock, and Indie Gaming. Their talents extend beyond their solo work, as they collaborated with Brett “Leland” McLaughlin, Ryan Raines, and Gabe Reali to write and perform “Armageddon,” a track featured in the Netflix series Love, Victor in early 2022.
Black Polish’s talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed. As a high school senior at the age of 17, they achieved a significant milestone, reaching their 5,000,000th stream in the spring of 2023. This impressive accomplishment served as a testament to their growing fanbase and the impact of their music. Soon after, upon turning 18 and graduating from high school, Jayden signed their first recording and publishing agreements with esteemed music entities, Riptide Music Group and Rough Trade Publishing, further paving the way for their future endeavors.
With a unique musical style, an unwavering dedication to their craft, and a string of successful releases, Black Polish continues to captivate audiences and solidify their place in the music industry as a rising talent to watch.
